Taylor Hensel is an award-winning producer, director, and writer from Oklahoma and a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. Her work has screened at major festivals worldwide, including Sundance and has streamed internationally, bringing Indigenous stories to global audiences. She is also the Co-Director of Tuya Gadu Productions and Rez Dog Resources.

Her producing credits also include Bad River (Peacock), Thin Places, and the Emmy- and Anthem Award-winning Reciprocity Project series. Taylor has also contributed to the camera crew for Reservation Dogs Seasons 2 and 3. Her work has been recognized with an Oscar shortlist for Best Documentary Short Subject (ᎤᏕᏲᏅ), 2024 Critics Choice nominations for Best Narration, Best Historical, and Best Political Documentary, and a 2024 IDA nomination for Best Short Form Documentary. She was named a 2023 Sundance Native Labs Artist in Residence and a 2022 IllumiNative + Netflix Producer Fellow, continuing to elevate Indigenous storytelling on a global stage.

She is currently working as the lead producer of What She Carries, a feature documentary exploring traditional birthing practices and life-giving in Indigenous communities.
