Taylor Hensel is an award-winning producer, director, and writer from Oklahoma and a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. Her work has screened at major festivals worldwide, including Sundance, and has streamed internationally, bringing Indigenous stories to global audiences. She is Co-Director of Tuya Gadu Productions and Rez Dog Resources. Taylor was also one of the very first instructors for the groundbreaking Cherokee Film Institute, helping cultivate the next generation of Indigenous filmmakers.

Her producing credits include Bad River (Peacock), Thin Places, and the Emmy- and Anthem Award-winning Reciprocity Project series. She has also worked the camera crew for Reservation Dogs Seasons 2 and 3. Her work has been recognized with an Oscar shortlist for Best Documentary Short Subject (ᎤᏕᏲᏅ), 2024 Critics Choice nominations for Best Narration, Best Historical Documentary, and Best Political Documentary, and a 2024 IDA nomination for Best Short Form Documentary. Taylor was named a 2023 Sundance Native Labs Artist in Residence, a 2022 IllumiNative + Netflix Producer Fellow, and a 2025 recipient of the Creative Artist Fund, continuing to elevate Indigenous storytelling on a global stage.

She is currently the lead producer of What She Carries, a feature documentary exploring traditional birthing practices in Indigenous communities.
